I have been lately thinking of setting up a home entertainment system for myself. This is because I feel that I should be spending a little more time at my place. Previously, my daily routine has been one where I go out pretty much every evening after work – and I am finding it a bit tiring. To be frank, I am also finding it to be a bit too expensive. This is especially so after one of my friends who used to take me out frequently moved to another city. I have other friends I can go out with, of course, but unlike Frank (the one who recently moved to another city), these other friends are of the sort that insists on ‘sharing the costs’ during these evenings out.
The home entertainment system that I am considering setting up will have three components. One of those is the music component. Within regard to this particular component, I am thinking of setting up a very huge and diverse music collection. I recently encountered a guide to use a website (that is, a guide on how to use a website) in setting up a music collection. That guide has turned out to be very helpful in this project.
The second component in my home entertainment system is the movies component. With regard to this component, I am mostly thinking of renting the movies I want, as opposed to buying. This is because I hardly ever find any movie to be worth watching more than once. So there is no point in me buying movies, I think I should mostly rent. I am also looking at the option of streaming movies online, from sites such as Roku.com/link.
The third component in my home entertainment system is the TV component. I have, of course, always had a TV — but I have never subscribed for cable. Now I am thinking of doing so. But I am still trying to figure out whether it would be worth the cost. The channels I am interested in getting are those 24-hour movie channels, music channels, channels where I can get soap opera series… and so on. I am also interested in fashion channels. Those are like, say, channels where I can get interviews of the folks who write articles in the Fashion Police columns of the magazines that captivate me. All in all, I think that the cost of cable TV subscription would be nothing, compared to what I have been wasting going out every evening.
